As we reflect on the Christmas holiday, we think about family gatherings, the joy of giving and Aunt Alice's famous fruit cake. At MSB, the holiday season also means remembering the impact made by spreading holiday cheer throughout our communities.
When decorations go up in our branches, so do our community giving trees. These trees representour many partnerships with area non-profits and our passion to bring smiles to area children on Christmas morning. From employees, to community members, to local organizations, these trees were filled with generous toy and winter clothing donations for boys and girls of all ages.
On December 15th, our elves gathered up their collections and donated them to non-profits of their choice, where the gifts were then delivered to families across our state. Whether through tree collections or monetary donations, we are honored to have partnered with these wonderful programs to help spread holiday cheer: Machias Community Giving Tree, Let's Have a Merrier Christmas, Washington Hancock Community Agency, Salvation Army and Angel Tree Program, Sea Coast Mission, Danforth High School National Honor Society, Toys for Tots, Infinity House - A Division of Wellspring, Phillips Strickland House, Caribou Fire & Ambulance Toy Project, and the Portland Immigrant Network.
Christmas isn't the only time of year to give back. As we all look forward to the New Year, it's never too early to start planning how we can continue to support our communities.
