Creating a culture doesn't happen overnight. It happens when you have employees who live it, promote it and stand behind it. Recognized by their peers for rocking our culture every day, we congratulate the following 10 employees for becoming the newest members of the MSB Culture Champion Program.

Culture Champions: Jonathan Alley, Joanna Bagley, Leanna Beal, Charlene Cates, Kirsten Currier, Lindsey Davenport, Katelyn Fitzpatrick, Eric Free, Elizabeth Hayward, Stephanie Page.

Senior Management Team:  Larry Barker, Danielle Caricofe, Chris Fitzpatrick, Chris Lyford, Nate Martell, Nikki Pellenz, Don Reynolds and not pictured Traci Sanborn.

After enjoying candid conversation with our Senior Management Team, the champions found themselves suiting up for a wild ride down the Penobscot River in Millinocket! The trip pushed some outside their comfort zone and a few more out of the raft!  "I was so nervous about white water rafting, however, I sat in the front row to face my fear and by the end of the trip I had a huge smile on my face!"  Kirsten Currier excitedly shared.  The trip solidified their friendship bonds and their commitment to MSB's exceptional culture.

Charlene Cates shares, "Being selected as a Culture Champion has made me even more invested in Machias Savings Bank. For me personally, I learned the importance of leading by listening well, responding accordingly, and communicating with a clear vision.  Each person, advancing the culture in their own area, makes MSB what it is and ultimately, what it will become."  Leann Beal also shares, "To be nominated by my peers as someone who embodies our culture standards is humbling.  I have been given the opportunity to work closely with employees who I typically don't interact with.  I look forward to this continued collaboration."
