There is more to banking then money, spreadsheets and crunching numbers. The number of career paths is actually amazing! Our summer hire program is just one way we're spreading the word that many more opportunities can be found in the banking industry.
This summer we welcomed 10 summer hires into our culture, one of which whom is Tate Dolley, a second year veteran who actually enjoys spreadsheets and crunching numbers in our Accounting Department! She first realized she was interested in a possible career in business after taking an Accounting class at Washington County Community College during her junior year at Machias Memorial High School. To further explore her interests, she applied to work in the Accounting Department part-time during her senior year and works full-time in the summer months.
Tate shares, "I like everything about working at the bank. I love the people I work with and the work I do. I have learned how much I appreciate a daily routine. The bank has given me an example of the kind of environment I would like to work in. My future aspirations are (aspiration is) to become a Certified Public Accountant."
In the fall, Tate will be returning to University of Maine at Fort Kent to kick off her sophomore year. We thank her and the 9 other summer hires for all they contributed to MSB over the last few months and look forward to the opportunity of seeing you all next summer or perhaps as a future full time employee. Thank you all for being exceptional!
